BIRNS Aquamate Connectors are excellent for medium power or signal applications, or when weight or mechanical abuse are considerations. This rugged series is molded of a durable high-insulation material that cannot chip or dent, and may be mated while wet or underwater. Male and female connectors are both available in bulkhead and in-line configurations. Options include water-blocking and locking sleeves of durable plastic or heavy-duty Stainless Steel.
Aquamate Standard Circular (SC) Connectors are the original "workhorse" of the BIRNS Aquamate series. They are available in 2 to 12 contact pin configurations in both Bulkhead and In-Line (cable) configurations, in 3 sizes:
Aquamate Low Profile (LP) are excellent for applications requiring a low profile, right-angle connector (but for more rugged use and heavier current than the FL series). The BIRNS Aquamate LP utilizes the same #11 pins as the SC and is available in 2 to 9 contact pin configurations, in 4 sizes. Various insert stem lengths are available for bulkhead connectors.
Aquamate Mini Connectors (MC) utilize proven BIRNS Aquamate technology in response to today's increasing demand for miniaturization. The MC has an important advantage: the bulkhead connector has an integral mating thread, so only one locking sleeve is required.

BIRNS also offers M24231 connectors with Cable plugs with GRE (Glass-Reinforced Epoxy) bodies, per MIL-C-24231/30(SH).
The Subconn Micro Connector series as the name implies is designed to fit on underwater flanges, instruments or sensors where space is restricted. The contacts are the same size as the Standard Circular series, and the contact configuration is from 2 to 16 contacts. A right angle bulkhead connector is available in a contact configuration from 2 to 8 contacts. The Micro connector are rated 300 V at 10 Amp depending upon the contact configuration. The Bulkhead connector comes with Teflon leads whilst the in-line connector cable are of the water resistant SOOW type.
The Low Profile as the name implies is designed to fit on underwater flanges, instruments or sensors where height is restricted or a "neater" solution is required. The contacts are the same size as the Standard and Micro Series. The Low profile and Micro Low Profile Series are available with 2 to 9 contacts rated 300 to 600 V at 5 to 15 Amp depending upon the contact configuration. The Bulkhead connector comes with Teflon leads whilst the in-line connector cable are of the water resistant SOOW type.
The Subconn Circular Connectors are available in 4 shell sizes with up to 16 contacts rated for 300 to 600 V at 15 Amp depending upon the contact configuration. The standard products include in-line and bulkhead connectors with pressure proof dummy connectors. Standard connectors are manufactured from high grade neoprene with Naval Brass bulkhead bodies. The Bulkhead connector comes with Teflon leads whilst the in-line connector cable are of the water resistant SOOW type.
The Subconn Metal Shell Series was introduced as an alternative to the Standard Circular and the Micro Series bulkhead connectors where a more rugged and protected connector is required. The Metal Shell Series manufactured from Stainless Steel is available in 3 shell sizes compatible with industry. Flange and bulkhead male and female versions are standard.
The Power series of Subconn connectors was introduced to meet the growing demand for increased power requirements in underwater systems. There are currently 4 standard connectors in the series with a number of "special" connectors which are listed in the Specials section.
The series comprises a single contact welding connector, two battery charging connectors and a high power contact connector.
A large number of special connectors designed for specific applications have been produced by subconn over the last 20 years. All connectors use the proven unique Subconn contact design, and are for the most part rated for deep water applications.
The increasing demand for deep water technical solutions to data transfer and communications has seen the development of the OptoLink underwater connector, which is based upon proven expanded beam technology and the industry standard Subconn wet mateable electrical connector.
The trend towards single mode technology demanded a reliable underwater expanded beam connector but problems were encountered reflection from lenses used in the multi-mode designs. New designs were developed and the breakthough came in 1999 with the advent of the new expanded beam "ball lens" which produced the results required.
Our philosophy of a commitment to customer satisfaction by providing premium quality products was and still is the driving force behind our success.
Providing working solutions to your data monitoring requirements in harsh, hostile environments.
